Is there a max # of “sinking funds” you would suggest I do? I have a savings envelope but I’m looking to create a few for specific purposes like trips, school clothes etc. but how many is too many? Any suggestions, advice, comments is greatly appreciated!

As many as you can fund and if it fits your personal goals too.

Personally I have 15-20. This includes my holidays, all my birthdays (4 kids and 1 hubby), car tags, lunch money for my kids so I can do a large lump sum in august, a vacation in a year or so, TBM products, girl scout cookies, daughter's 1st communion, a mattress and new glasses, ect. Anything that I didnt want to come out of my cash envelopes and I wanted to save over time a large enough amount. Sometimes I add a few if I feel I will need it over the next year and I can start saving now. Most of the time I cant fund them now but I know that after I'm off of maternity leave and back to work, I would like to take my left over money from my cash envelopes and fund my sinking funds with that. if its doable. It is whatever works for you and your goals.
