Question

I could cry.  I spilt a cup of tea at work on my desk it went on my jeans and cardigan which I can just thrown in the wash but it also went on my coat.I could cry. I have a coat with a fluffy hood and I am worried to wash it because previous experience it’s gone clumpy and no longer fluffy. Any advice?

Brush it when dry

I’d hand wash it then as above brush it when it’s dry

I've washed coats with fluffy hoods many times. You just need to fluff it up when it's damp, and then again when it's dry

I put mine in on a normal wash then spray with diluted hair conditioner and brush then leave to air dry

Put the coat on a 30 quick wash then shake the hood it will be fine. I do it all the time

I machine wash and it goes in the dryer I’ve never had any problems

Brush the hood out with a pet brush i do that on mine and my kids coats with the fluffy hoods

When it's washed and dried use a detangle brush on it or a pet brush. I brush all our fur on hoods when washed An dried.

The way to bring up a fluffy washed faux fur trimmed hood, may sound odd, but use a dogs slicker brush, it has close metal bristles and does an amazing job, i used it on my grandsons Grandsons fur trimmed hood

Down cycle on washer if you have one i do feather filled coats they come out fine

I brush it when wet and that refluffs it.

I feel stupid saying this but brush it when wet with a tangle teaser and the same when it's dry  like I've got nothing better to think about than a clumpy hood

I just wash mine and hang it to dry, never had a problem

Washing it will be fine. it’s when you chuck it in tumble dryer without thinking it’s game over‍♀️. no detangling brush will sort that out Thought at 34 years of age and three coats in the space of a year I would of learned by now. nope ruined my eldests last week tooxx

I’ve always brushed stuff like this out with a hair brush. I have the sheepskin style rugs. Wash and dry and then brush with my round hair brush x

Is it real fur hood or faux fur if Faux will wash up fine tumble dry on low then brush x

I wash my coat its got a fluffy hat on and tumbler. it it comes out good as new .
