My dog weed on the floor and it ran onto the laundry basket. It's one of the types which folds down with a big spring wire so I can't put it in the washing machine. I've sprayed it over with disinfectant. Is there any way I can get it clean and get the smell out? Or should I just go and spend £5 on a new one?

You can buy urine eliminator from pets at home. You pour it over the stain, let it soak for a few minutes, blot it and then let it air dry. It’s about £8 a bottle, worth getting if there are any other mishaps.

The pet zoflora is fab for things like this. Dilute it with water and spray on, when dry the smell will be gone. Just don't let pets touch it until completely dry. Hope that helps xx

Wash it in the bath, mine is a big fabric framed one and I can’t put it in the washer. My cat peed on it so i washed it in the bath with bio washing liquid and let it drip dry on the line. Worked a treat.

Clean using the hose outside? With washing up liquid, then disinfectant. Then leave to dry?

Get a new one. It will cost more trying to get it out and you’ll have to re wash your clothes when the odor doesn’t fade

Can you not unpick the area at top where spring is, feed this out wash it , dry it then feed it back in and re stitch it back up?

Use biological washing liquid. Biological washing liquid breaks down the fatty enzymes in a dog's urine, that cause the dog to keep going in the same place. I just get a cheap pound bottle and use that if my dog has an accident. And it works wonders.

Just buy a new one, not worth all the hassle for £5
