No secret here refuse to lose sleep about the inside of my oven. Get a man in once a year and live life to the full the rest of it. No one went to their grave wishing they had a cleaner oven‍♀️

@homolographic1 well done you i wish i could do that.
by (4.6k points)
You can. trust me
by (5.7k points)
@homolographic1 i use to but i make celebration cakes and I did find they took longer to cook lol, so i do try to clean it more often. I use to just get it done Christmas x
by (4.6k points)
@theriot29 this is what used to puzzle me. i always got mine done after Christmas after the mess of cooking over Christmas, the rest of the year i figured chicken nuggets didn’t make too much mess you’ll have to post some pics of your cakes, I’m blown away by talent like yours!

Oven pride left overnight but be careful as it’s really strong; there must have been a tiny hole in my glove and it made a blister on my thumb ‍♀️

Get it professionally done. OK at the minute you can't because it's not an necessity. Averages on £50 once a year then just keep it wiped down once a week. Looks like new.

Oven pride is really really good , but very time consuming , if heavily dirty it may take a couple of days but will come up brand new. Mr muscle is quicker but I have read and also experienced that over time it weakens the glass and my oven door glass actually shattered.

Astonish oven cleaner

by (4.4k points)
Put it off until looking inside looks like looking down a coal pit in the depths of Hell. Cry a bit. Swear a bit more. Then bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar with a touch of washing up liquid for the main cavity. Bicarbonate of soda and washing up liquid for the door. And I cannot recommend reusable inserts enough. They go at the bottom catch all the drips and you slide them out wash them off in the sink and pop it back in. They last for ages too! Cuts future oven scrubbing time in half!

Oven racks and grill pan in the bath with washing up powder and baking soda over night Brillo pads / oven cleaner paste, ashtons or pink stuff typically. And doesn't take long to scrub it. But I probably only bother about once a year  once it's burnt so much so it's easier to remove

@fairground93 Johnson thanks for this I will try its desperate!
by (5k points)
@auriscope its honestly so easy the grease just wipes out xx
by (4.2k points)
If it's a Fan assisted oven, please wear a mask, you don't want to be inhaling chemicals. This is the simplest and quickest way to clean an over, but the chemical/heat will create a vapour, that's really bad for your airways. I developed let onset asthma from this methored as I didn't use PPE x
by (5k points)
@ong @cystocele397 Snedden you dont need chemicals to wipe it out when its warm lovely by the time you've wiped it and I use fairy washing up liquid to clean the left over bits of grease before anything else it's more less cold anyway I'd never use anything on a hot/warm oven xxx

Dab a mixture of water and baking soda (the result should be paste-like) over the inside of the oven . Let it stand overnight. Use a sponge the next day to remove the gunge. For the racks I put an old towel in the bath. Put the racks on top and fill with hot water. Add 1 cup of washing powder (I use Surf) and 1 cup of soda crystals. Leave over night and the grease/baked on gunge will wipe off with hardly any effort.
