Bicarb could aggravate a babies sensitive skin. Give it a good shake and hoover mix fabric softener with a small amount of water give the rug a good rub with the liquid and let it dry out and then use you can use the mix on soft toys as well x

If bicarb agrivates skin then fabric softener would to as in the washing machine it's rinsed out so you would need to rinse it

Flip rug over Hoover back (your be surprised what comes out) re hoover right way. Spray with a watered down comfort mix. I use bicarbonate soda on mine. But unless you know you an Hoover it all out I'd just stick to comfort mix
