Comcast. Only reliable. You pay for what you get. I had wow and doesn’t come close to Comcast. In fact when I went to turn my stuff in. the place was like a back door unprofessional disappointment.

i just called Att, they said max 50 GHz. Called wow, they said max 100GHz. Called Comcast they said up to 1000ghzif it is true, I would go with Comcast. I guess up to 300 GHz would be enough. Anyone has experienced around 300GHz speed?

You get what you pay for. I figure we don’t go out much as husband is ill. so I get all 3. Still have a land line. 3 TVs. 2 computers and unlimited phone. So. you pay. We don’t pay for all the frills they offer. Do like talking into the controller.

If you choose this route. i would suggest watching your monthly bills to be sure you are not being overcharged.

You have to set up a package for you. If you sway off and watch a movie you don’t subscribe too. yes they charge. I set it up so that if a movie is on that I don’t subscribe to like HMO it ask you and warns you. That’s all extra.

try a wire from the modem and see if that works better. Also do a speedtest both ways.

@
psychogenic2644,
I have had ATT for awhile. I started with DSL and moved to fiber optic (Uverse). I believe the top tier speed is 1000 Mbps (aka 1 GBps (Gigabit)) for both Comcast and ATT fiber. Connecting via Wi-Fi is a fraction of the throughput of the providers line itself. Connecting directly to the router with an ethernet cable will allow for the fastest connection (fastest wifi is 802. 11ac @ a practical speed of 200 Mbps vs. ethernet @ 940 Mbps) Comcast vs ATT Whats the same Comcast has comparable speed tier offerings at close to the same price points to ATT fiber for the first year of service. Second year costs can vary dramatically for ATT, Comcast and Wow Way. Whats different Upstream (how fast you can upload information) on Comcast is much slower than ATT fiber (approx 1/10th of the download speed). You must rent the gateway/modem from ATT. You can rent the gateway/modem from Comcast, or buy supported third party devices. Comcast has special cell phone pricing if you are an internet customer and your cell phones are CDMA (vs GSM). Conclusion If ATT fiber is NOT available, I would suggest Comcast for the coaxial connection. Note: Wow way also uses a coaxial solution. Aside from speed and cost, also consider reliability of the service. That is where the above comments may help. I can only speak to the quality of ATT fiber, which has been highly reliable, but not always the lowest cost option.

thank you for the detailed explanation. I checked Att, and they said they have no fiber service in the area I live in. Also, wow said they have no service here. It seems my only option is Comcast. :)

gaming doesn’t take much data to play online. The game downloads do but those aren’t too often.

No it doesnt, but if you have more than one person playing and other people on the same wave of data, its extremely slow. with comcast, we get over 300mbps, which works amazingly

This very night we lost WOW for about 1 hr 20 mins, Many people dont realize they need to restart there modem to get it back - power off until the lights die, then power back on. One outage in 10 months.

Unplug the cable modem. Wait 30 sec. Unplug any router attached to it. Wait 30 sec. Plug modem back in. Wait 30 sec. Plug the router back in. Wait 30 sec. Now reboot your PC. Hopefully connectivity will be re-established once PC loads a Desktop. Run a SpeedTest to check bandwidth if you so wish.
