Question.  Back in the 70’s I remember eating KFC for the first time as a kid.Question. Back in the 70’s I remember eating KFC for the first time as a kid. I grew up on Thacker and Mt. Prospect . Does anyone remember where a KFC was in Des Plaines?

Oakton and Lee (kmart lot) Elmhurst between Golf and Dempster (Kohl’s lot)

Back in '70 the location was most likely the one on Lee St., about 1/2 way between Oakton and Algonquin on the West side of the street where Oil Express is now. My business, JB Metal Works is almost directly across the street. I don't believe the 2 mentioned previously existed back then.

Yes on Lee. The Beacon was there, KFC and a Ponderosa.

I remember the Ponderosa. My parents used to pile us into the station wagon & drive from Chicago to that Ponderosa. Only time we ate steak.
