Another little vent on price gouging. I think anyone that is selling a swimming pool for literally hundreds more than what they cost should be ashamed of themselves. Parents are trying to find something for their children to do since nothing is open. Pools are sold out everywhere. But you go on FB market place and I see people asking $800-1700! For something that cost $230-800. Are you kidding? $500 in profit or more? Not cool.

I couldn’t agree more! The Intex pool we purchased at Target for less than $150 is selling online for $300 - $500.

I found a pool in Wisconsin and drove up there. It was a nice change of scenery and I didn’t pay 3x the price.

@ungula can I ask what store?

Karie, it’s called Stock and Field. It was in Burlington, so about an hour and 15 minute drive. I’ll keep an eye out for you and message you if I see one.

Try keeping an eye out at aldi! I THINK they sell a bigger intex pool every year. They have a 12’x30”. it looks like they start selling them in June but people have been saying that Aldi has been putting stuff out a week earlier than the ad says.

Even Amazon is doing it. We bought this pool last month for under $500!

@paten you can actually report this to amazon. It’s an asshole trying to make money.

Totally agree. I got my pool and bounce house early. Like we bought it in December for my sons birthday party. But I just tried to buy chairs the fold out so you can tan, $200 a chair. For a chair that used to be $50! And I do balloon art. Yard balloons. My prices are fair. But some of my competitors are charging 10 times more than the supply pricing.  I mean. There is a part of me that wishes I could sell that with confidence and but I just can’t. Ten times more than the supply cost. For a yard balloon. I just can’t even. People are getting greedy. It’s like everything we were supposed to learn from covid just went out the window. We’re going to price gouge and then judge people for going to the beach. Which. I completely disagree with going to a public beach right now, but if your pool is going to prevent you from paying your mortgage, you may not have a choice.
