Question

Has anybody been to or thru o'hare airport lately, are people wearing masks to protect themselves? Hubby and I are leaving for AZ Friday morning and just want to be prepared. Thanks!

If I can find it, I'll post the article, but read something about how only people that are sick should wear masks. If you are healthy and wear a mask, the moisture that your breathing causes within the mask becomes a trap for more germs.

@balliol It’s so hard trying to keep yourself protected. Rich did mention masks like the ones you posted above being “better” protection. And thank you for the laugh, the visual of handing off the mask and running.

The regular masks won’t do anything to prevent the spread of it. Since it’s technically airborne you would need a more advanced mask that filters air coming thru.

@diocese2054 as far as I know the threat is low. But I’m not an expert, I work at a hospital and they have been keeping us up to date on what isolation precautions we should take IF a patient comes in.

We just traveled two weeks ago and there were quite a few people that were wearing masks in the airport and on the plane even.

Just came back from Florida on Friday. People are only supposed to wear masks if the are sick with anything. I brought in our diaper bag disinfectant wipes. I wiped down everything on and around our seats on the plane. Also always had hand sanitizer within reach, must be the mostly alcohol kind to kill anything.

I just flew out of O’Hare this morning and didn’t see anyone wearing a mask.

I do Uber and havent seen anyone with a mask leaving ohare and i do multiple trips everyday
