I have over 30 years as a carpet and flooring professional. I live here locally in downtown Des Plaines. I work with the local flooring center, Scharm Flooring on Oakton in Des Plaines. I am available to come over and pull the carpet and advise you on what to do. Please pm for further info.

Thank you all for the suggestions. took the carpet out of one room today and am pleasantly surprised!. fingers crossed rest of house is decent
