Are any moms in here regular workday Metra commuters to Ogilvie? Can you talk to me about where to find parking in DP and how often you encounter evening delays?

When I worked downtown, I'd park in the lot at metro square, behind the theatre. You park in a spot, and then go into the stairwells to pay for it, using the space #. Evening delays weren't often, but did occasionally happen.

Thank you @spearhead33-- were there ever times when spaces weren't available in that garage?

I never encountered that, and I was usually there between 7 and 745 am. But I would always park on the top, just because it was easier and I knew there'd be spots.

I park in the lot along Miner by Walgreens - it's $2 - and have no trouble finding a spot around 8:15am. Cumberland station also has a big lot (off of Golf) for the same price that I don't think I've ever seen full but less express trains stop there. Delays happen but haven't been too terrible.

If Dee Road Station is convenient, it’s in a zone cheaper . I took the 1st or 2nd train of the day, so parking wasn’t ever an issue and had no major issues with delays.

My husband and I work downtown and also work from home on different days of the week. So one (or both) of us is downtown daily. We personally use the Cumberland stop because it is close to our home, and the train schedule works for us. Parking is never an issue when we need to use it. Plenty of spaces there, it never fills up. As far as delays, it’s honestly fairly rare. Occasionally there are issues in the morning, I usually find out on the news before I even head out of the house. Same with the evening - it’s occasional. In my opinion, it’s really pretty consistent. I have a coworker that lives out in Naperville, so she’s on the BNSF line and they always have issues, I swear.

Daily commuter, but I walk so not sure how helpful I’d be. Parking sucks at Des Plaines

I take Dee road. If you get there before 8am, you can usually find parking in the lot which is like $2/day. If you go later, you can park along side streets. If you hit the between 8-8:30 time though, you have to go a little ways because immediately around the station you can't park until 8:30am. It's slightly cheaper train ticket, and less traffic than DP. But if you're on the other side, everyone says Cumberland is the best for parking. I just live closer to Dee Road.

Both the lots East of the train station fill up before 8:00am. I'm usually in the last 5 spots if I get there any later than 7. This being said, if you get there between 6:30/7:00 parking is generally fine. Metro Square usually has parking later in the morning. I've never seen that full.
