Question

I have a DPPL book that I checked out a week and 2 days before they announced that they’d be closed. I was already 2 days overdue maybe plus/minus. It’s a 1 week loan book. Just now, I looked at the book and thought this will be a big fine. Does anybody know if they are still charging if you already had an overdue book?

I do not know about DP but PR is waving book fees as they announced, early on, they were not accepting returns at this time.

Look at their website. They are not charging fees from the day they closed. Drop off is also closed. If you log into your account you will see they adjusted the days.

Per their website: Can I return books? Please hang on to your materials - and enjoy them! The bookdrops and the hallway returns are all closed while the library is closed. There are no staff in the building to check them in or put them back on the shelf. Will I have fines or overdue books? We suspended ALL fines while we are closed, and NO items are due until June. (You can still check your account online at dppl. org)

Yep, per my mom they are going to be waving all the fines.

@nubianubian94747 I got nervous that since mine fines 2 days of fines were before Closure that it would continue accumulating.

@tildy i have fines from before as well but when I went to drop off my books, the bins say they will not accumulate
