What do you moms do with your kids’ sports medals: recycle or trash?

I allow mine to keep truly special ones they actually earned. Like my son's regional wrestling champion ones. But participation trophies go in the trash after a few days to a week when the novelty wears off and I find them on the floor ‍♀️

@kovrov9 I did but they didn’t wanna keep them. They only kept a few really memorable ones . My teens are following minimalist living.

@aves41 wow, my kids would not let go of their medals if I had to pry them from their hands. Mine are little, though.

@mitziemitzl Last winter we donated trophies that didn’t have their names on. I didn’t know last week my daughter dumped the rest of unwanted ones in the garbage. Then just today, my son decided to clean up/declutter his room so out went the rug, sports plaque(I couldn’t donate coz they have photos) and some medals. I was hoping I could just recycle so I don’t have to add to the donation pile

My kids have a “special drawer”. It’s up to them to keep what they feel is important and I can tell you, ALL of their sports awards are in there.

Donate. My kid only Kees 1st place trophies or medals. We donate them, sometimes schools do olympics and they can use them too.
