Dear All, I recently joined the group, thank you for having me. I am planning to move to des Plaines and I want your recommendations in terms of which area is good to live in (safe, good schools, etc). Is there any incorporated areas I should avoid?

West of Mount Prospect Road is CCSD59 and D214, while east is D62 and Maine 207. I have found those scores to fluctuate over the years but I don't think either set is going to set your children back. I'd look into them to see which you prefer. As for the rest, I would say it is budget dependent

NOT in any if the Zeman owned mobile home parks. Oakton to downtown and River to Elmhurst. would be my suggestion

We have some nice homes for sale near the Thacker and Lee street area. I love it over here. Avoid anything near 294

More specifically, we are in the Westfield neighborhood. Many families. Great community

We are located west of Mt Prospect Rd. Our kids attend Distinct 59 (Devonshire) and my oldest attends Elk Grove HS (District 214). It is a great area, with awesome neighbors - also since we are on this side of the town, we belong to Mt Prospect Park District.

Look for D62. Orchard place has great teachers. And the Dean is awesome. Check out the 60018 area

Terrace school area. It borders mount prospect. Very very nice.

Cumberland terrace is a great neighborhood. Good schools. I've lived here for 37 years
