Anyone else excited that our schools are now going to have some of the best quality and healthiest food available?

@gocart  Hopefully more organic food options for the kiddos

I turned on post approval for you because you try posting totally random stuff multiple times a day. Let's try to keep things DesPlaines specific, ok?

@gocart Yes I'm sorry - I was excited about the opportunity for my children that attend CCSD59 schools to have healthier options for lunch

Okay now that IS community related. Can you edit your post to elaborate? It was kinda confusing. I found this online. I'm not sure if any DesPlaines schools are in CCSD59. You might know better than I.

@gocart unfortunately I don't know anything specific at this time but just being optimistic

That is from 2-3 years ago, that's who they switched to and the food is still awful.

Like . they’re going to have more organic options? Or you’re just thinking it would be nice if they did?
by (2.5k points)
@enzymology being hopeful that they will

Reread your original post. You state it as a fact.

They switched food services 2 years ago I think? To some organic life place. Did not notice much difference aside from the watered down milk. A couple of nacho chips with a tiny bit of weird meat is considered a lunch. I thought it would be healthy organic stuff but it doesn't seem like it.

@oleate2 Maybe now they can do a better job

It's the same place, I think that page is from a year or two ago.

For some reason you have appeared on my timeline today posting this random generic post in 2 other groups I am in. Why?

Im confused. Ccsd59 still has the same provider, Organic Life. Looking at the menu from your link, it's exactly the same for years now. Am I missing another link or more information?
by (8.1k points)
It is the same, they just left that article up, nothing changing.

Nothing new. Just very bizarrely stated wishful thinking from someone who also posts about how she refuses to wear a mask to protect others. Every one of her posts that comes onto my feed seems like dumpster fire material.

I couldn't agree more.

They need to go back to when lunch ladies actually cooked food.
