Where are my bike moms? The only form of exercise I truly love is a good bike ride. I'm getting a burley trailer (the one with the stroller conversion to park the bike and walk when needed) for spring, my daughter just turned 1. What are your favorite trails and access pointe to start? I'm on the rosemont side, so jumping on the river trail by me ends sadly by the river bend since it's always under water. I also can't safely ride from my house to the trailhead since touhy goes under the expressway with no bike overpass /sidewalk /etc. Thinking about where to drive and park - it doesn't have to be in DO as long as it's not too far. Bonus points for fully paved paths or paths that lead me someplace nice to stop for coffee! Forest preserve or around town is fine, as long as it's an off road path wide enough for the trailer.

If you want, you can drive to and park at Beck Lake Woods, at Central and East River Road, not far from Oakton community college. You can ride to the River Trails Nature Center in Northbrook. It’s a fun place to explore outside when weather is nice and they have a cute play area inside and animals to look at inside and out. Closed Fridays for cleaning. The same trail takes you all the way to Wisconsin from what I’ve heard but I have only gone as far as River Trails. I’m not a big biker but did it once  to Northbrook

Have you tried the BikeMap app? I like it for finding routes.

@tensimeter75 it's been a bit since I've used it, but I know you can filter for different path types. I'll take a look and let you know.
