Question

Does anyone know if the garbage or recycling companies are taking bulk pick up or is it cans only?

@calpac0 I have more recycling than I can fit in my bin. They used to take a large box of recyclables in a box on the side, but because of Covid, I don't know if they are. I don't have yard waste.

@brow8 . Do you have the lawn and leaf bags. Just mark them recycling. They take all my boxes if I can’t fit them in the can. They will take them. My day is Tuesday. They will take it.

Only thing you call ahead is like couches and fridge. That’s all in the calendar.

@brow8 If you just have boxes and things just compact them as much as you can. Like smaller ones inside big ones. Just smash them down. They will take them. Are you new to DP?

Lawn and leaf bags are useless if you have all boxes. Anyway you can buy them at the jewel. Truth is if I have overload of recycling things. I don’t bother. In the green can they go.

@calpac0 no. I've just never had this much stuff and I knew that Mt Prospect wasn't picking up anything that wasn't in a can due to COVID

@brow8 Really? Can’t imagine why. Ours has masks on. Not like they are mingling with home owners other than a courteous wave now and then.

They do both on 1 day. Refuge. recycling and garbage. If you don’t have a calendar you can get one at city hall.

I haven't heard of any garbage pick up changes in DP.
