That’s dodgy though. Tax should be included in your ad spend and not a separate line. When you go to the shops, all the prices include tax so why shouldn’t this‍♂️
by (770 points)
@appel not in Australia. The price displayed is the price including tax. Yes on the receipt it will tell you how much tax was included but it’s not an additional charge added on at the end. It’s actually illegal in Australia to display a price without the tax included

@appel and it wouldn’t be like that. You spend $10000 on advertising then that is your ad spend. Pretty sure that’s also illegal to say you’re spending Y amount but only getting X amount of value‍♂️

In the US, tax is added after product price, e. g. a 300$ product will add 24$ worth of tax* at checkout *if the VAT is 8% In Denmark our VAT is 25% and is added before purchase, like in Australia.

@mollescent and so it should be added before purchase! Only 10% in Australia

@beelzebub Wholesale pricing is calculated with VAT being added after purchase, here at least. So if you’re a business, the VAT is deductible from your business taxes, however it still has to be paid. In our case (Denmark’s), it IS legal to advertise a price that doesn’t include VAT, however not legal for consumers. You could argue that Facebook marketing is not for consumers; it’s for businesses. Not sure about laws in Australia, but it would be perfectly legal in Denmark.

Yep we can claim all our tax back as well but it should be broken up after purchase. Before purchase is just sucking extra money out of you especially in ad spend!

Since this year they start taxing ads. If your company is gst registered then you can tie it to your account for tax rebates

May have changed in recent times but for us in Australia we just added our ABN into the business manager and it no longer charged the 5% ✌️

My country Malaysia tax 6%. On the bright side, low margin player will have tough time but good margin product can fully leverage on this to keep delivering their value.

Just put in your business registration ID to avoid tax
by (650 points)
When coming to annual tax filing, you still need to pay the GST to the government. No way to avoid that. And that is why GST register company is for, 7% of your Sales.

@leathers272 I think he means you can deduct the taxes you pay with the taxes you charge to your customers. But definitely no way to avoid them.

Facebook does not charge taxes, governments do. Ask your government why. Facebook just processes it.

They charge FB, so FB charge us :P

Yes and no lol.

Facebook pays it's own taxes, that is very much a tax the government is charging you, they just make Facebook collect it.
