Wats up I just started fb marketing I just landed my first client. She’s been in business for 3 years making about 35k - 50k a year. She’s never done any kind of online advertising other than boosting a post. She wants her main focus to be more sales and repeat customers. How should I go about starting her advertising? Any advice is good advice. Thank you

It would probably be a good idea to learn how to do digital marketing first before getting clients and charging them for the job that you have no competence in.

@radiancy524 it would be a great idea!

@dockery That's great that you've have been straight with her and she understands your situation! Start with Market Research for her niche/business on Google man! Have a look whats currently working for other businesses in her niche, what angles the competitors are taking etc etc. Then you can put a plan together from there. (What the next steps are, what you need to learn, etc etc)! You'll find some awesome blogs too on Google with detailed explanations of what to offer and "How to" guides etc! Just make sure the source of the information is reputable/ up to date!

Outsource the project to someone that knows how to do it and learn in the process

@puma7472 Yeah I've whitelabeled about 50-60 clients in the last 3 years for 5 agencies. Turned it into an agency model and now offer it as a service, we have 14 active whitelabel accounts right now lol.

How are you charging your client? What’s the business?
by (1.5k points)
@dockery got it. does her website have a pixel on it? You can PM me and I can try and help you a little
by (250 points)
@dockery I suggest waiting to place any pixel on a new website for at least a few weeks, links break, plugins can have issues, forms etc.

Don't spend any money yet. Get, website updated, solid SEO, Google my business profile and all other social media accounts in order. How is her logo? Does branding need a refresh? Start a newsletter/ email list. Lots to before spending money on ads.

Lets see a screen shot of her metrics thus far. the truth is in the metrics. if there are any.
by (2.1k points)
If she's been paying for boosts. she has to have metrics.

@dockery First you need to find ads manager and not use the ads center

First two weeks - GTM, Pixels, Analytics. You should google those things until you will understand how this stuff is working and why do you need it. And no paid advertising if this world is new for you!

@dockery Google Tag Manager. Umbrella for other 2 things that allow you to do fantastic things with little or no coding experience.

Screw that. I can teach you how to rock this.

Have you considered doing what you told her you would be doing in exchange for the money she agreed to pay you for that service?

@post20488 this is amazing. Sometimes the idiocy in the group kills me.

Tell her you don’t know anything, show her this post and then give her money back

Don’t take her on, she’s not at a level where she can invest into marketing yet. If you do take her on, be ready to be micromanage for little pay

Look into YouTube ads. Targeting hair products for black women on Facebook can be a challenge if her page is new. If she already has a good, qualified page following, you could use FB to target friends of people who like her page. Otherwise shift to Google and go with YouTube. Use topics and demo interests. You can also target individual channels.

If it’s repeat customers and sales she’s after, email may be one of the best routes to go down.  If you can help her to drive sign-ups to her email list, then it’s a great way of keeping in touch, staying top of mind, and encouraging repeat custom. A lot of people say “people don’t read emails anymore”, but that couldn’t be further from the truth! With the right kind of emails, you can even get people excited to receive them from you. That’s one strategy that I’d say could be incredibly useful for you and your client at the moment!
