Wordpress. Just get hosting, plugins and themes and you won't have large reoccuring fees. Shopify is easier to use.

@grobe You will have larger start up fees but less ongoing costs. Also Shopify willl take a larger % of your sales unless you are on one of their highest tier plans. For Wordpress I recommend you buy from Siteground and get the Growbig plan. Domain $19, Hosting $286 for 3 years- don't get less years as the price jumps up after first purchase. Then you need a theme builder such as Divi or Elementor. DIvi is $89 for 1 year or $249 for life. Just get 1 year. Plugins all cost $ as well but if you dm I can recommend some useful plugins I use and the cheapest place to get them all. So you can have your site up ad running for $395+plugins and only pay $19 a year to renew your domain until your hosting is up for renewal. The theme makes the page easier to build with drag and drop features but get a pro in to finish off the site and make the backend, SEO ect good.

@grobe I am happy to have a discussion with you about a partnership. I currently own an e-commerce site.

@grobe Sounds good, I've sent you a dm.

@grobe Also you are not going to want to be on the standard plan for Shopify for very long, so you will be looking at paying $79 month.

Hands down shopify! Yes there is a higher monthly fee but it can scale due to the best app market compared to any other platform.

Shopify is perfect but (there is always a but) - just keep in mind - it's structure supports only one language on one account. And if you will use apps for translations - well you will have some problems with integrating product feeds in different languages for your dynamic ads. @grobe So it's your call. In any case - feel free to contact me if you are looking for partner in crime. :)

Woocommerce or Shopify. They are better new store runnings when they're running traffic to their site with FB Ads
by (2.6k points)
@grobe Yeah if you have some good experience then I would go with wordpress. Shopify is the option for when you're basicaly starting out new and just want to get started.

@grobe If he has experience with Woocommerce then he should be able to do exactly that with single product landing pages.

I strongly prefer WordPress if you're experienced in eCommerce because it's way more professional and looks so much better and when your gaining traction I would highly recommend going with it and if you want to sell if the UK, France, Spain, etc I would have 3 different domains for each such as www. mywebsite . fr, www. mywebsite . uk, etc and set up shop and start selling in each country that way. Once you get a lot of traction I would fly out there to each country and based on where a majority of your traffic is coming from which you can measure I would open up fulfillment centers or form JVs with guys down there to allow you to offer much faster shipping and probably even work deals for custom packaging if that's your game plan. But for just starting out brand new and not going so advanced I would recommend Shopify by far for beginners! but once you're gaining more traction I would switch over to WordPress woo. and be careful when looking for business partners, make sure they have the same values as you, and they won't screw you and put in the work, I would find a couple people and give them a few tasks first and see what feedback you get back and evaluate based on that and then form a partnership from there. be smart now go kick some ass in UK, Spain and France boss!

@grobe The apps really wouldn't matter because you can have apps and developers with WordPress and woo. You also don't have to worry about if Shopify goes down then your store is down and f***ed if Shopify has a problem and you lose out on money, with WordPress you have TOTAL control over your site and everything that comes with it. You don't rely on Shopify for anything. Also, you should always be sending your traffic to separate sales funnels in the first place so if you did have a Shopify website unlesss you doing massive volume with a strong brand and a lot of direct traffic, in my opinion, it is not worth it. If your doing small numbers with no strong brand presence your direct traffic will be 1/4th of the people who past purchased with you and then you have to integrate your Shopify monthly cost into that so if you're doing small numbers it just doesn't make sense to me and Shopify is basic the themes etc WordPress just looks soo much more professional in my personal opinion and it'll increase your direct traffic conversions as well. I just love it because you have total control over your entire business. I don't know if you know or heard of the big fashion guy Jeffrey star who runs with Shopify, but he lost out on millions of dollars because of Shopify going down and not being able to fulfill or take orders and they were having a whole bunch of problems and he lost out on that money because they didn't have total control over their site and Shopify went down, do you want the possibility to lose out on millions of dollars in sales?

@grobe I personally use CF for that job personally but theres many different options I was even thinking of switching to kartra personally but if your using wordpress im sure if you have development experience or hire a developer you could use elementor theres alot of different options those are just my personal prefrences but theres alot of options out there for the job and if you wanted to get even more powerful since fashion is a HUGE competive industry you can break into it by forming multiple JVs and getting endorsements and tapping into other peoples trust, credibility, brands, capital, and more so when you just enter market you have all that behind you so people instantly see your brand as credible, trustworthy, and you gain a huge edge entering into market for very little money by tapping into other peoples years of building trust, years of establishing credibility, years of spending millions of dollars, you can tap into all that instantly and enter the market from that angle. all paid for on a growing variable incrimental basis so your maximizing your profits at the same time, these are a bit more advanced strategies but thats what you could do just a tip for you since its such a competitive industry and you would have to spend millions and spend alot of time to enter the market barrier or you could enter it from the other angle and hit harder that way for way cheaper and much faster

Shopify. Having used both extensively, it’s no contest.

@grobe They’re both easy but I do think Shopify is easier for a beginner.
