Disregarding the advanced features, anyone notices a lower price in engagement ads when using the ads manager than when using the boost/promote buttons? Read that Facebook charges more in boost for “doing the campaign for you”

I think no, they behave the same way as you do on your Business Manager. Facebook lowers cost, if you choose more open targeting (more trust on FB algorithm). At the same time, the post should resonate . or you'll pay more.

@impressionist5752 yes but I’ve tested exact same campaigns on both sides, and for example price per click is around 0. 1$ from ads manager and 0. 4$ when promoted from instagram directly. Other people noticed that as well, with the exact same audience and creative, so it makes some sense but not sure

Same bidding? Probably not Having different results is nornal. Even same ad set duplicated can perform dufferently.

@impressionist5752 yea but this difference is consistently happening between an ad in ads manager and a boosted ad, will look it up further

@uredo5 I would say, boosting post uses reach objective. You can also use reach objective on Business manager to test it out. I would say, that you bid for link clicks instead reach.

@impressionist5752 boosting and promoting is definitely engagement not reach

I never use boost post function. Link click and engagement are seperate objectives. I think here is your answer.
