Topics, Placements or Audience Affinity related to Farming. But you can't target specifically to farmers.

Like stated above , , custom affinity . figure out what websites your targer groups most likely HAS to visit, which then naturally cross correlate with you . (Example - corn/maize farmers would likely visit seed-dustributors, farm equipment websites etc . ) And then say that tjose that visit a, b, AND c of tjose sites, are relevant end-customers of yours .

You could find what farmers like and build a custom affinity audience.

If you have conversions then let the Machine learning do the job for you and create a Smart Campaign! Otherwise Custom Intent with Keywords and Url from sites that farmers usually visit is the best solution and finally why don't you try Affinity with Home & Garden combine with geotargeting, exclude metropolitan areas as metioned from @landahl is a very good strategy!

Recently i was targeting dairy farmer, i created a custom intent audience with urls from the dairy farmer association in the us. Then use that audience in your display
