So two things - firstly check that they are ads clicks. If they're not - no problem. If they are. go to your ads, locations - and exclude all the countries you don't want.

@jimmie it’s a local business. I excluded the sorrounding areas. I didn’t think I’d need to exclude China. My targeted locations are supposed to be IN the area. But still why does AdWords say that my clicks are IN my targeted areas. AND is there a short way of excluding “the rest of the world”

Are they ALL paid clicks that you’re looking at in Analytics?

@centuplicate2 yes. All paid traffic.

Just to expand on what @jimmie said: third thing check your campaign settings that you're targeting only "people in or often in my targeted location" and not the default "people in or interested in my targeted location".

@martelle58 of course navigate to settings and then down to locations then add or exclude locations and click on location options to change targeting settings

Ok, i meant to say "is there a way to modify the type targeting while a campaign is active" As is interested in location vs IN location

Yes, checkout the bottom part of the screenshoot I posted. You just need to click on the "Location options" for the dropdown to open.
