How to limit monthly overspend budget in google ads?

It should not overspend monthly. It spends 50% more of your daily budget sometimes. Sometimes it spends 50% less. Thats how it can spend the correct monthly amount. At least in my cases.

@fernandez32942 I've seen 50%+ overspending by day but yes, won't overspend monthly.

Whatever you want your monthly budget to be divide it by 30. 5 and set that as your daily budget. You might not have any budget left the last few days but it does work.

I used daily shared budget and then spreads costs through campaigns. Any that I want more data or focus on I change to a daily budget until I have gathered data etc.

Run scripts the stops campaigns when they go over x budget. Then run automated rules to unpause the Ads at a h tv time of your choosing
