I will go for Google Ads for Conversion Tracking. It is more roboust for Google Ads. You can also get advantage of measuring view-through conversions, conversions update refresh rate and tracking on clicks more smartly.

Thanks for that, I am just so frustrated by the event snippets. I love that Analytics allows the URL path to be the trigger as opposed to the javascript event snippet.

@electricity It works like same way like GA does but you got flexibility to use events with custom rules + view through window as well.

Keep in mind the analytics conversion tracking takes a day - so if you need yesterday's data, this is not a good option for you

@microeconomics If you need to get fast decisions (intraday), you are 100% correct.

Great point! I always thought they were equally delayed by 24 hours

You should do both. Tracking thru g ads is more accurate with quicker access to data. Tracking with ga is invaluable for audience building and assessments along with a number of other advantages. You can choose to not "include in conversions" if you're concerned with duplicates in g ads. You'll find both data sets valuable I'm sure. You'll also find them to be different, even if you're tracking the same events and that is interesting, isn't it?

I prefer conversion tracking in Google Ads (with first click attribution). But sometimes clients want to do it in GA because they want to compare other paid traffic sources there.
