Google ads, seo, facebook ads etc? My future goals are doing my own stuff like affiliate marketing and such or I will start freelancing my skillset for people. Thanks

Hi @dermatologist8581!  I would go all in on Google Ads. Start with building a really solid setup for your build process and a checklist for each build. So you have standards for growth. I highly recommend checking out Paid Search Podcast.  - it is incredibly educational and super funny. I also really recommend https://directiveconsulting. com/institute/ it has tracks for all you want to learn about and you can pick one and do the other at another point. And for the love of Stanley, but this course. It was the single most helpful course to me and my new hires.  https://www. udemy. com/. /the-ultimate-google-adwords. / PS - I am NOT affiliated with any of these and I get zero kickback. Just really trying to share value on here! If you ever have any questions, feel free to direct message me!

@littlejohn much appreciated for your comment and the link. I was leaning towards google ads as well. I'll be watching the podcast for sure and hopefully will make me more confident in my decision.

I literally learn something new on each one of the PSP podcasts. Fair warning they have lots of banter. But they are super funny albeit Jason is a little weird haha. But he means well.

Depends on how much you're willing to spend to learn. I started with SEO because all you need is a website and some time. Getting really good at PPC requires spending some money. It's harder to gain experience without having money to spend and getting clients without any experience is risky. SEO does typically require some basic web development skill as well though.

SEO. 16 years in the industry, and from what I observed, in this order are the most valuable spots in digital media. 1. SEO 2. Data Science 3. Analytics 4. Paid Search/SEM/PPC

If you're going into affiliate then definitely Facebook ads. I don't know any successful affiliates that aren't Facebook experts. And it's extremely useful in general due to its scalability up or down. This is coming from someone who built their career in Google ads so I'm not playing favorites.

I don't think anyone can tell you what you should be going into, that decision should be down to what you enjoy the most. I spent 6 years doing SEO and then dipped my toes in the Googe Ads water and realised I enjoy that more. You should maybe try all of them for a while and see what you prefer. I would recommend trying to get a 'job' or at least some work where you are supervised and can get support from more experienced people. If you can get something in an agency that would be ideal as the different workflows and clients will really help you solidify which discipline you prefer.
The Google AdWords Group is where you can always find questions, answers, advice, reviews & recommendations from other community members about successful search engine marketing (SEM) ads through Google AdWords.
