Does anyone know how far back google's algo looks when using automated bidding strategies such as tCPA? We've had great conversions in the past and very little conversions for last 2 months or so from COVID, and I want to go back to tCPA bidding, but dont want it to optmize based on last 2 months results. Any ideas how long back google looks?

Just memory, man  they actually removed this from their support articles, when they made tCPA method available to new campaigns. In the past you could only start on CPC and had to wait to qualify for cpa bidding

Brad Geddes says Google works on the premise of "what have you done for me lately". What you could maybe do: Inject some softer conversions to lever the number of convs in combination with a temporary switch to MaxConv. Then, change to tCPA again.

I wouldn't use an automated bidding right now based on historical data, to be honest, unless you're 100% sure that in your segment consumers' behavior won't be affected by the economical crisis. Same for making forecast; they will be inaccurate, to say the least. Today it's like you're starting out the very first day. The market is different.

Enhanced CPC for temp for week or 2 then switch back to tCPA . i think this should help you to get things. These days google want to feed or inject information whenever needed. you start seeing the drop in the conversion then its time inject or feed something to him.
