Facebook ads are much profitable for such business. For Google ads (run YouTube ads conversion objective) re-target YouTube video view for further msg via Google display ads.

Run YouTube ads for a pizza place? Does that really sound like where people will be looking for a local restaurant?

@penicillin neither ppl will Google it. They will always type the known brands such as "Domino's" "PizzaHut. So, in ordrer to target such ppl you can create a custom audience & target these segments. Also consider using Affinity audience to reach out this segment. For more information, feel free to reach out.

@indomitable465 Appreciate it but no thanks.

@penicillin display and video ads actually do really well during 4-8pm. It depends on the chain.

Simple. Target by specific location or radius. Use location extensions and connect Google my business listing. Local businesses are my expertise, send me a message if you need help.

First time customer acquisition will not be profitable. You must be ok with taking a loss.
by (29.2k points)
Because you don't look at it as a one-time sale. It is about the LTV of the acquired customers.

@penicillin agreed. That's what I meant by taking a loss in customer acquisition. If you have a good email and rewards system you will make your money back 3 fold. Thank you for expanding on this.

I do SEO mainly for a pizza shop. Local pizza shops can do well. Paid I’d say go with a radius setup (covering a certain area) and have two campaigns. One specific to pizza that shows in search and another one thats display for branding purposes targeting the area.

Search and display ads. Are you advertising to get a sale right now or to brand build for the future or both? It will dictate the strategy and how you allocate budgets.

To get as many sales as possible ASAP

@djakarta Well the "easiest" is to target people that are actively looking to eat or in and put those ads in front of them. Probably best you use "pizza restaurant in x"

@djakarta Stay away from Display. You will spend money without return.

I would focus on two things: 1. Optimize your GMB so that you are shown within the top 3 in your town/city 2. Run Google Ads with a radius set to a certain distance + run FB retargeting Ads from the people who visited your website. You can either run FB awareness retargeting campaigns or a FB retargeting ad for a coupon to your pizza restaurant. If you have any questions feel free to reach out!

Don't forget remarketing once you have enough data

@knockabout69 Yes, for sure. Gotta have enough data before retargeting.

Offer a 1st time customer special, share HD pics of your pizza's, create branded content that shows how well your pizza's are made. Especially if you are just starting out, you might not have a big budget for paid ads, so work on getting organic reach for FREE along with that because people could care less about ads, they want insider content instead.

Check the option of Phone Ads - right now it's named somehow different - couse they have new update where you can add the website to the enlargement. When someone in you area will looking for pizza , can click in the Ad, which make phonecall to the restaurant. I never test that at this sector but maybe work.

IG and FB ads. People tend to stick to favorite pizza place. Need to convince them to try yours. Use great pics. and create appealing videos of your product. How’s your website? Can they order online? Offer great deal to obtain new customers. Then SMS marketing for repeat business.
