I comment this every time. "Hey guys, I want to dig for gold. I have my shovel I just need to know where to dig. Thanks. "

That falls under “secret sauce” that takes a lonnnnnng time & lot of cash to develop. I’d be surprised if anyone shares that for free or at all.

I would share it with him for free. What's wrong with helping our fellow marketers?

@smaragdite6360 There has to be a line is all. I answer questions here all the time, but I’m not passing out CSVs of done-for-you data. I’d rather teach a man to fish. He’ll be just fine catching his own.

@tub9 well and truely knows how to fix.

Lol, @tub9/activity" class="qa-user-link">tub9 definitely knows how to fish. This dude helped me a ton with PPC staffing advice from his time training/running PPC teams. Also the same guy that I recently saw develop an actually proprietary solution to attributing revenue to phone call sales. and then released it to Git Hub so others could use it. Honestly hate to see this tone in the group lately. A negative list isn’t some proprietary edge, it’s a starter. @tub9/activity" class="qa-user-link">tub9 let me see what I have. If I can dig one up, it’s yours. If not, I’ve crafted and run decent sized auto insurance accounts so happy to add what I can as you’ve helped me out in the past.

Sure. Add "insurance" negative phrase

You will be surprised. I talked to a local repair shop that was an "expert" in ads as in his field and he had "repair" in the negative list - he couldn't understand why he doesn't get any clicks.

Is buying negative keyword lists a thing?

IDK. But I'm sorry to see that some people have a scarcity mindset. I've have managed over $100 million in spend over the past 12 years. I've consulted with a number of agencies and have given them huge lifts. This isn't as big a deal as people make it. It's called value exchange, and I pay for value, or share back more.

Add all the other brands that aren’t yours, unless your ad talks sh*t about them and you want people to see it when they search for those brands. but don’t do that. Add them, and I’d probably add other types of insurance - you don’t want to show up for life, health, dental, vision, earthquake, fire, flood, renters, or homeowners insurance if you don’t offer them.

@gramme59743 thank you sir

Don't add your competitors, what the heck? That's silly. You want to show up on competitior searches.
by (690 points)
@caroncarotene Why? If someone is searching for a competitor, your ad is completely irrelevant. If I type in a specific name like Geico, I want information about Geico or quotes from Geico, or I would search for a more general term. Notice though, I did say "if you're talking shit about another company" which would mean you COULD make your ad relevant by saying something like "Cheaper than Geico! " but otherwise it makes no sense. Your ad quality is 0 if you're AAA and someone isn't searching for AAA.

@gramme59743 this varies across different industries. You can’t follow a cookie cutter strategy. You shouldn’t be buying “Nike” keywords if you are Adidas but you can buy “Priceline” keywords If you’re Expedia. The reason is because the generic terms might be way more expensive and the service is a commodity.
