I am kind of doing that right now. I overstocked on some things (oops) so I am using ALL of what I have before I buy anything else. I miss my bars, but I want to use what’s in my cabinet before buying anything else. It does get old quick. You could only do that for 2 because you need a restricted snack!

@corrincorrina I always thought it was required and that it helped you lose better for some reason!

It's optional. You can have one, but no more than one. My coach always suggest avoiding them if having a stall.

@rhubarb my coach does not even sell restricted snacks anymore.

@rhubarb, same here. Trying to use up some extra drinks and protein powder. It gets old for sure, but it's easy too and the feeling of monotony has yet to become greater than my degree of laziness.

Rarely use the powder to make shakes. I make pancakes, waffles or bread with it

I’ve done it before. I do the shakes and oatmeal only a lot too (all lower cal foods). When I was on IP originally my coach had me start that way for the first two months - only Shakes, Oatmeal, and Pudding. Seems like that was a weird clinic-specific rule, but it worked for me so I still go back to it from time to time.

@malachy what about 4 c veggies? Oatmeal seems to give me obnoxious gas. Anyone else? Oh my

@thiourea9341 well yeah, I ate the lean protein and veggies too. I was just talking about the packets

@malachy any problem with oatmeal?
by (380 points)
Not for me. It’s one of my favorites.

I usually have a shake, egg and 3 egg white omelette over cauli rice and a protein bar. I find the shakes don't fill me as much as other things.

Blend a cup of spinach with your shake. You will feel full longer.

I mainly do the ready made shakes with spinach. The bars are a trigger and I will eat more than 1, so I keep it simple. Sometimes the Quest chips, but again I crave more, so I just keep a big supply of shakes in different flavors!

@mazur1 That’s kinda where I am right now. I need to keep it simple bc if I even make snacks with items, my brain is still thinking In eating the bad version. Ive got a ton of shakes and they def aren’t triggers for me. I can heat them up, drink cold, or make a homemade Starbucks drink for variety.

@garnettgarnette26 I don't think of it as boring, just easier and actually less expensive too!

@garnettgarnette26 I do the mocha latte in morning, banana in afternoon and evening, chocolate, sometimes hot

Ifyou use premier protein shakes it says on the outside of the box no more than one a day

@dele323 I have not seen that, but depending on which brand, protocol is 3/4 of it, to make it unrestricted

I use the health smart shakes for breakfast and use the health smart soup chicken and beef with pasta for my non restricted packets. Then I eat a crunchy salad. Using hot and cold drink packets mixes it up for me. That is how my coach had me start and I love 2 varieties of each and simplicity.

Please help. I am just getting started. What should I order for breaky, lunch and snack? All on line? Or can I find some products in stores? And which stores?

@leningrad I get protein powder on Amazon along with Quest chips . Vitamin Shop on line for Walden Farms strawberry syrup for salad dressing and WF marshmellow for baking donuts. Built Bar. com for choci oate bars ( I love the orange filled ones). Each day I have protein donuts using the Quest protein powder ( I like salred caramel) and WF marshmellow (baking powder, water, olive oil and egg white) for breakfast ÷ i bake on Saturdays and freeze- then toast in morning, salad with the WF strawberry syrup dressing/4 oz grilled chix ( I make 5 on Sundays), bag of bbq Quest chips and dinner is 4 oz fish, chicken or beef with 2 cups allowed veggies ( or a recipe fromJeneva's cook book *a must! for variety and really good flavored foods- love her soups, orange chicken, fried rice, dirty rice, fried caramel apple, Tikki Marsala and Big Mac in a bowl). and then a Built Bar a bit later for dessert. I keep a stash of Walden Farms: caramel, maple syrup, orange marmelade and thousand island dressing for some fave recipes from the cookbook.
