Yes magnesium, I’ve also heard that low levels of vitamin D can cause insomnia.

Melatonin. Take 5 mg 2 hours before you want to sleep (not a half hour and then wonder why it's not working). It should get you 4 solid hours of rest. You'll then wake up for a bit, but can go back to sleep after. You can take more or take again for longer intervals if desired.

Take magnesium citrate, start with a low dose and take in the evening. Might try when your not going anywhere the next morning. Can cause diarrhea. It has helped me tremendously.
by (110 points)
Not magenesium citrate you’ll be pooping all night. Magnesium glycinate 400mg daily at night

Get up, clean the house, do the laundry and ironing. Read a good book, meditate and journal. I get the most done in the middle of the night.

Magnesium before you go to bed. There’s a product called Calm (buy in local health food store or pharmacy) that makes a fizzy water you drink, and it helps me get to sleep.

I was having issues and I bought Sleep Tonight. While it didn’t make me sleepy, if I woke up during the night I went right back to sleep. I was very pleased. When I was at the Herb Mart, the woman also told me that taking 1 triptaphan and 1 magnesium pill works great to.

Melatonin. I also just recently read that pistachios contain the highest concentration of natural malatonin than any other food.
