Yes! I cook the radishes in chicken broth overnight, drain and leave a little bit left, add bacon, celery, half and half and a stick of butter, some oregano and let it warm up a few hours.

@logan not potato soup, but radishes and turnips are a great Keto substitute.

I’ve made a beef stew with them . you can’t tell the difference and the red color cooks off. They also make a great home fry for breakfast!

Do they lose that sharp, bitter flavour?
by (700 points)
@rattlepate993 I have roasted them and also fried them and it takes out the taste.

We use raddishes all the time! If you cook it long enough, you cannot tell the difference.

Radishes will be bitter and your soup will be a weird pink color if you don’t peel them.

I've used radishes and they tasted great. I also used turnips in a roast they tasted just like potatoes. You peel them and cut them up just like potatoes.

Radishes have almost the exact same consistency. So do rutabagas.

I made scalloped "potatoes" & ham using thinly sliced parboiled Daigon radishes for supper one night & my non-keto family never knew it was not potatoes!

Not with radosh but with turnips. It was delicious

@bein5 I am going to try turnips.

@munro7 only recommendation I have is to make sure you peel them enough and get that core. If not, it's stringy. @peppercorn it turns out

I love radishes. I’ve never tried them in a soup but I’d cook them separate and throw them in last if I made a soup with them

No but you need to cook them longer. I tried potato salad, not bad. Just did not cook long enough.
