Hi everyone!  Does anyone make remembrance keepsakes for pets?Hi everyone! Does anyone make remembrance keepsakes for pets? My mom is about to put her dog down after 13 years and is absolutely heartbroken. I found a beautiful sun catcher on personalizationmall. com however their production is fully shut down until the shelter in place is over. I figured I'd see if there are any local crafty moms. I just want to let my mom know I'm thinking about her.

We had to put down our 13yo dog before Christmas and got some great ornaments from friends from etsy, got a great frame (i think from etsy) and they put our pic with our dog in there, and got a puzzle from my sister from shutterfly with pics of us with the dog!

Hi Lauren, when we had to put my pup down a few months ago, my mom surprised us with these cute keepsakes. We snipped a small part of her fur before she passed and she got the vials from Etsy ❤️ sorry you hear about your moms pup.

Michaels or Joann usually has the handprint and frame crafts, I did that for my boy and now I have his paw prints on my bookshelf next to his picture. I love it ❤️ I added glitter too but you didn’t have to ❤️

I would look at how to make homemade plaster from flour and put the paw in it and then you will be able to paint it and put its name on it I had a vet do that for me

I’m so sorry. my heart goes out to your mom ❤️ You could do something as simple as putting her dog’s paw print in paint on a piece of paper and framing it. I think it’s a sweet memory. This website has great instructions.

I had my dogs cremated and they do a cast of their paw print.

My father in law has a glass blowing studio in central Illinois. Prairie Fire Glass He can make ‘Spirit Glass’ with ashes of lost loved ones inside the glass, if that’s something of interest to them. It’s fully customizable (size, color, etc) and he loves to first hear about the lost loved one before he begins, to fully honor their memory as he creates it. He’s had his shop over 10 years, he’s very skilled, and it’s his only source of income. Right now he’s only open for shipping but everything ships free. I’m so sorry for their loss ❤️

Cathy- yes! He truly makes it special. He’ll listen to the music they loved while making it, etc. He can put the ashes into any glass object. ❤️

You could also do something simple yourself for now, and get something bigger later. When we put our dog down, we took her collar with her tags, and hot glued it around a candle that’s now sitting on our entertainment center. Or on a mantle. Just another idea for you.

I’m not sure if your mom uses Chewy or not to order dog food/treats, etc. I had a cousin who’s cat had passed away and she had called Chewy to stop her subscription. They had asked why and she told them about her cat passing. Chewy had asked her to email a photo of the cat. She did and they sent her a personalized painting of her cat for free. It was so sweet.
