Our second child is due within the next two weeks and I'm starting to think about how we should introduce the baby and our firstborn who is 2 years old. Any tips or advice? I should also note that it will have to be in our home since no visitors are allowed at the hospital right now. Thanks! <3

We did a big brother bag for our son from the baby. It had a book about being a big brother, brother shark and baby shark matching shirts for both of them, and some small toys I knew our son would like. He was so happy with it! He was 3 when our 2nd was born. We also had the Daniel tiger big brother board book ahead of time to help explain what being a big brother meant. Congratulations!

My boys are 20 months apart. We had a gift of a build a bear for him to give his brother (that he made) and had a build a bear from the baby to him. They still have the bears and love them. We talked a lot about him becoming a big brother and made a big deal about it for him. He is the best big brother. We included him as much as he wanted and we made sure to spend one on one time with him too. I kinda let him take the lead and he wanted to do a lot more than I thought. The worst part was about a week after my older son did go through a sleep regression. No idea if it had to do with maturing or the changes but we got through it Good luck!

Our newborn is a month old now. We did a lot of FaceTime while at the hospital (start of social distancing and she wasn’t allowed at the hospital either) and had a gift for older sister to open when we got back. She did so well with the transition. Good luck!
