Moms - help!  I’m usually someone who remembers holidays and birthdays and then plan in advance.Moms - help! I’m usually someone who remembers holidays and birthdays and then plan in advance. I don’t know if it’s bc of the virus or what, but I completely forgot about Mother’s Day! My husband just asked what I’d like to do Sunday, as we’re a quarantined home and can’t go anywhere! WELLLL, I’m freaking out about what to do for my own mother! Any suggestions, please?  She lives out of state, which is why this is extremely limiting. If I have to result to flowers, I will, but I was hoping to be a little more personal. I have failed miserably!  Thanks

I sent my out of state mom a delivery of olaplaex products lol. She will love it. Or my mom loves her Nixplay digital frame. I upload pictures of my family to it all of the time and it goes straight to her frame.
by (830 points)
@deon4 this miiiight be a stupid question , but what are olaplaex products? And where do you get them?
by (4.3k points)
@thornton it’s a great haircare line. I know she won’t buy them for herself but that she will love them. (I do).

by (830 points)
@deon4 I definitely will check this out. Not quite right for my mom, but I should could use some hair love! LOL What product do you recommend? I have pretty thin hair and would lovvve for it to be much thicker
by (4.3k points)
@thornton hmmm I really am not sure about what would make hair thicker. It helps make my hair stronger and less breakage. I use 3, 4, 5, 6. (hair perfecto, shampoo, conditioner, and leave in bond smoother). My hair stylist used it.

We sent Garretts Popcorn to ours! I'm sure they'll love it, something different than we normally do.

Make a quarantine survival basket. tp, books, her fav snacks, a movie, crossword puzzle books etc. I also got my mom a skylight frame so she can see pics of my kids all the time.
by (830 points)
@boilermaker4387 I love that idea, and it was my first thought, but there’s no way I could make it and get it shipped to her in time.

I could suggest you Mary Kay’s satin hands set ($36) which is great especially in these times or a nice perfume, body spray ($32-50), Shea scrub or lotion etc . There are many options . You can have it shipped to her house directly . If you order today or latest tomorrow , it should be there in time . Guest checkout option is available too on my website . www. marykay. com/pdivekar

I forgot too and just ordered my mom and MIL a canvas print of our daughters. They’re 60% off on Walgreens photo right now with a promo code!
by (2k points)
@wry79985 do you have the code
by (1.2k points)
@so5 it’s on there somewhere, but I believe it’s ORDERNOW
by (830 points)
@wry79985 thank you! Do you think it’ll make it in time? I would love to do that! What size did you get? Thank you so much! Do you by chance know the code?
by (1.2k points)
@thornton Of course! I chose same day print/pickup, so I’m picking them up later today and taking them to the post office & paying for express shipping if I have to. Our moms are in MI though, so not long of a ship time. I got 8x10’s and they were only $16 each after the code. & I think the code is ORDERNOW, but it’s on there somewhere!
by (830 points)
@wry79985 I see! I was looking to do something no contact. We’re in a quarantined home with a high risk child.  BUT thank you so much for the suggestijn
by (1.2k points)
@thornton oh no, I’m sorry! I hope you figure something out!
by (830 points)
@wry79985 thank you! I’m going to do the skylight frame and a special meal. Thanks

My mom lives in Co but is originally from here so I sent her her favorite chocolates, caramels, and candies from her favorite candy shop (Dan's homemade candies) from when she was a kid. I ordered them on the 1st and she recieved them yesterday and she was so thrilled! I also told her to pick her favorite restaurant and I will order it and have it delivered to her. Dinner and dessert is all set for Sunday!

Sorry one more idea! My mom got me a Facebook portal for christmas and I love it! We're able to see each other whenever we want without the hassle of holding the phone. We like to drink coffee in the mornings together so we'll sit there for hours just talking. Just way more convenient!

Everyone is in the same boat. Why not write her a poem or heartfelt letter and send through the mail. That would be pretty special
by (3.9k points)
@galliard92573 ❤️❤️❤️ that’d be my favorite thing to receive and exactly what we did for my mom!

Our family is also out of town. In addition to sending a gift, we are also surprising them with a Mother’s Day lunch delivery from a local restaurant in their area.

You’re not alone! I ordered my mom a bunch of new releases by some of her favorite authors from Amazon. She received her first box today and will get another this week.
by (830 points)
@keelson my mom would love that, but I don’t really know what authors she likes
by (650 points)
@thornton next time you talk to her you’ll have to ask if she’s read any good book’s lately Me and my mom are big readers and we share our books but I always try to find her a new author to keep expanding her reading list.
by (830 points)
@keelson good idea! I will def do that!

My FIL has a glass blowing studio in central Illinois. If you’d like to send her a handmade glass vase, bowl, paperweight, or heart, I could ask him to get it in the mail ASAP. You’d also be supporting a small business- he’s the only employee. I’m happy to help if you have any questions ❤️

@flooded she actually would love that! She’s an artist, and really into that! I will definitely check out the site. I got excited about the skylight frame and special meals delivery, but maybe I’ll do this. If not, her birthday is in July, and I’d definitely be interested in one of his pieces!
by (830 points)
@flooded so for example, this one. Would it look exactly like this? Am I getting this one? Since they’re all handmade, no one can be the same, so just trying to understand how this works. I really like this one. She lives in the southwest and I feel like she’d like this
by (830 points)
@flooded commenting seems to be glitchy. If it continues, I’ll PM you, or you can PM me
by (830 points)
I PM’d you
by (2k points)
@thornton - sorry, I have a demanding 4 year old! Yes this is the exact one you’d get. It’s the exact photo and will be removed from sales once you purchase it. I’ll PM you! I’m so excited!
by (830 points)
@flooded okay! I understand now. Thank you!
by (830 points)
And trust me, I get it! My 1 year old is napping and my 5 year old is currently immersed in painting, so I’m getting a few minutes to myself!

@thornton - check out the videos on his FB page! Prairie Fire Glass
