I also found that using shampoo w no silicones or parabens keeps my blonde hair SOFT and balanced for days on end. The silicones in most conditioners actually dry your hair out making it so you have to wash it all again.

I just got these at Sams club a couple weeks ago and noticed a tremendous difference in my hair after just one use! It air dryed super fast, actually stayed conditioned and my hair didn’t get oily as fast either  It smells like the prettiest perfume and a little goes a long way. I can’t recommend this brand enough

Deep conditioning masque after every wash. Let it sit for 30 minutes wrap up in plastic cap. Rinse and style as usual.

I would reach out to your hairstylist if you have one. They know your hair best. **coming from a hairstylist**
by (4.5k points)
@holle she messed it up. So nope
by (770 points)
@vidrine2119 Cromer aw girl I'm sorry to hear that!  like stated masques, deep conditioners. Try to stay away from too much protein if your hair is fragile.
by (770 points)
@vidrine2119 Cromer also did you reach out to her that you were having issues? A good hairdresser would help, and if she knows shes at fault should at least help with products to get your hair to a better condition. I wish you the best of luck! I know how much it stinks to not love your hair.
by (1.1k points)
@vidrine2119 Cromer out of curiosity how did she mess it up. She hasn’t been able to touch your hair in 7 weeks. Not trying to be a jerk just seriously curious
by (4.5k points)
@picard she did it in her basement. Off the record I’m sure.

I can help! I do product reviews and analysis, but I have a question for you first. you can only test this with clean hair (no product in it) - take a piece of clean hair and put it in a cup of water for 5 minutes do not touch the water or anything. Then is the hair floating at the top, in the water "swimming", or completely sank? Answering this can help me make recommendations.

@musgrave what are the three differences mean
by (8.4k points)
So I found this important because for YEARS I was told and thought my hair was "damaged" but it was not at all! It was dry because I have low porosity and products and moisture cannot penetrate inside of my hair well so I read up on it and spoke to a hair scientist, not just a beautician and it completely transformed my routine and how I wash my hair and use products.
by (8.4k points)
So high porosity hair does well with heavy conditioners/butters and low porosity needs very light oils and there is also different needs for protein in the product too
by (8.4k points)
Having a hair analysis could show you exacts though as some people may have different porosity in different areas on the stands (like high on ends but low everywhere else)

PHYTO haircare is one of the best in the world, just not well known. I also do not really agree with some of the "popular" products being suggested on here vs other options that are out there. It also depends on YOUR hair and its properties, just saying products without knowing more about your hair might not actually help.

Olaplex is the best product I have ever tried. A little pricey, but worth every penny.
by (1.4k points)
@fried27 how long did it take to notice a difference? I’ve been using it for about two months, every step, and haven’t noticed any improvement.

This winter, I picked up a Skin Repair Stick with CBD from Malloy's Finest Wine & Spirits. It's super healing, made of all natural & no chemicals, made in California honey products. It's divine! Hope it helps you. I apply it everywhere.

I did no heat, dryer or flat iron, no bleach for 6 months. Made the world of difference! You have to get creative with styling products for sure.

I’m not a stylist. just a girl who had the same problem. I used coconut oil and grape seed oil (organic, cold pressed) treatments once a week. Both are sold everywhere and very inexpensive. Heat under hot water. Saturate hair. Put on a shower cap and either sit under a dryer or wrap a hot towel around your head. Leave it for at least 30 minutes. Wash. I also used a little of either bas a moisturizer once my hair was dry and styled. Give your hair a break from heat. This is the perfect time. By the way, my hair is thriving now.
by (5.4k points)
@wilsey please don’t use coconut oil in your hair. It causes protein build up and actually masks your hair from receiving moisture- while it might “feel” better if you continue this it will make your hair drier more brittle and damaged than it was originally.
by (2.8k points)
Heather, I have a head full of beautiful hair (no vanity just the facts) and I’ve used coconut oil for several years as part of my regimen. It may not be for all, but my proof is in the healthiness of my hair. We all have different textures, needs and things that work. This works for me. There is nothing brittle or dry about my hair.

Shampooing less often has helped me. I used to wash every other day and now I wash 2x/week. It looks & feels better.
by (2.8k points)
Yes! I can even go once a week, especially during these times. And I’m naturally curly, so I haven’t blown my hair dry or put heat in it for weeks. My hair is loving it, even though it was already healthy. If my curls need refreshing between washes, I just spritz with a little water and add a little leave in conditioner.
