Is there anyone here who works for the government or unemployment. or is familiar with the terms and could explain a letter I received? I’ve tried endlessly to call, with no luck, and I’m just at wits end.

I work a part time job and only making $200 a week with that, based on what they told me. Now, this letter says my total deductions equal my benefit amount, which isn’t true.

No. That is terrible. My sister in law is being paid part time and still getting enough benefits to equal what she had been paid wjen working full time. Im sprry i cant help more. That is so frustrating. We certify for the first time tomorrow so i dont know how that will go.

after you filed you should have gotten a letter. At the bottom of that letter it gives you a dollar amount for the total amount you are entitled to a week. If you make more (even a dollar more, even just working part time) than that total, you will not get unemployment

I don’t. I specifically asked the man on the phone. He told me I could make up to half my weekly allowance. For instance then, if my allowance is $500 weekly, making $200 a week shouldn’t interfere. I made sure I asked all these questions beforehand.

I worked in Florida last year prior to moving to Illinois. Started a new position with the same company in late February and was turned down. No way to file dual state online and read I have to call. Of course you cannot reach anyone. I've tried for over a month now. Furloughed with letter and no income or unemployment. I mailed in proof and I'm now waiting to see if I get a reply. I may be better off trying to nail jello to a wall at this point.

I’m sorry. I’ve decided I’ll try and still call to get answers but, I’d rather scrape by and get more hours part time than play the “what if” game. I wish you luck. You’re not alone, as none of us are, it’s just frustrating doing this for the first time . and not getting any answers.

last year I worked in Florida. Moved here to Illinois at the beginning of this year and my position with my company changed. Same company but now working from Illinois starting late Feb. Was furloughed in Illinois but do not qualify according to Illinois since it's not showing I've worked last year in Florida until the beginning of this year. Same company just different position

is it possible to move to DM? I could send a picture of the paperwork? I’d like an explanation. Basically, it states “my deductions are equal to or greater than my weekly benefit amount. ” BUT it’s not.

Yes, but I just got a work call. Can you PM me and I'll show it to him as soon as I'm done?

I didn’t receive my unemployment and that’s what my letter said too, turns out I answered a question wrong on my certification. Luckily I was able to talk to someone to fix it.

For everyday that you worked during your certification period your benefits are reduced by 1/5 so if you said you worked 5 days a week then you’ll get no benefits.
