Has anyone used the Naperville Public Library app to get books for curbside pickup? I can’t find how to put books on hold to request materials.

Make sure you're logged into your account on the NPL app. Then, when you're looking at an item, you should see a "request hold" button at the bottom of the screen (see image). Press the hold button and follow the prompts to select your location then submit. You'll need to wait until you receive a notification that your items are ready, then call to schedule an appointment to pick them up.

Picked up a book yesterday. Scheduled at 5pm. Arrived on time. Called the number. Two minutes later the book was in my trunk. Very efficient but recommend going to half hour or quarter hour scheduling - full hour is a long time for only 5 patrons.

@waterford You can show up any time within your scheduled hour. We are scheduling more than five patrons per hour.

@gerrald7 Thank you. I thought 5 per hour was too few.

Open the app, go to catalog and then search all. Use a key word to find the item you want and press request item. Then choose the location to pick up the item.

@porche267 thanks for explaining in detail! I needed the first steps to find the books. I never used the app & just got the books off the shelf.

Yes. Picked some stuff up today. Place holds and then you will receive an email with instructions

Do a catalog search in the app for the item you want. Then hit request and choose where you'd like to pick it up. It will tell you the hold is successful and you'll get an email when the items are ready for pick up. Pick-up is super easy. :)

You can also use the Hoopla app for certain books to read on your computer or iPad
