Question

Does anyone know where (and maybe when) I can purchase lemongrass plants? I’m looking to plant big, tall planters for the backyard patio. to ward off mosquitos  I tried the Bolingbrook Home Depot and didn’t see any. That is the only place I looked though so I didn’t try very hard Maybe it’s more of a summer time plant. not sure. Thanks in advance!

We buy ours at Lizzies garden every year — they’ve always been really healthy and grown into really large plants.

F. I don’t meant to hijack your post but Is lemongrass better than lavender to ward off mosquitos?

@nesta I just planted lavender too. I’m going to use both. The mosquitos in my backyard are out. of. control!

@helbonia mine too! I planted a ton of lavender last year but they all died over the winter. I’m debating whether to plant lavender again or try something else. I want to stick to a low maintenance perennial ideally.

@nesta they are both equally good. I have a small dish with lemongrass oil in it on our patio and that helps. Will look for it now
