Moms, what smart monitor do you use for baby, and what did/didn’t you like? Considering the Nanit, Owlet Smart Sock & Monitor, and Miku Smart Monitor. Has to be a smart monitor. found out we can use an HSA/FSA to pay if it’s a smart monitor and we’re way over-funded, so may as well find a way to use some of those funds!

We have the nanit. I really like that the breathing wearables (swaddle or band) are just regular fabric that can be washed. Downside is he spits up on them, so we need at least two to rotate out, haha. The other day we lost WiFi (a neighbor cut the line) but we could still see the camera feed on our phones somehow (local view). I like that you can buy the multi-stand and use the nanit in different rooms. We initially bought it planning to use it when we go to grandma’s but we ended up using it to monitor him in the pack n play in our room. So the wall mount is above his crib in the nursery but it’s super easy to pick up the camera itself and move it to the multi stand in our room. Downside is that you don’t get the sleep analytics if you’re using the multi stand.

@dull4474 awesome. Any issues with getting the wearable on and positioned properly? My biggest pro with the Miku was that it’s not wearable, but still surveys breathing but camera

@steno7 so far we have only used the swaddles. One time we did get a false alarm because it wasn’t on tight enough (my husband did it that time and didn’t know if it’s too loose it won’t register correctly). But we haven’t had any other problems since then. They are nice swaddles too. It might get annoying later when I have to use the band over a sleep sack maybe. I had the angelcare with my last kid and that was waaaay more finicky.

Oh and also, the swaddle I bought directly from Nanit is way better. It Velcros on the front and on the side so it’s harder for them to break out. I also bought one from buy buy baby and it was marked down, think it was an old version because it only Velcros on the side.

@dull4474 thanks! I considered that one but saw a number of bad reviews, especially concerning chronic beeping.

I used the Owlet and loved it. He wore it every night for 10 months

@candis I’ve heard issues with the sock slipping off/going off randomly. Since the product is 99. 9% for mom’s sanity and . 1% medical monitor, that was a worry. Did you have issues?
