I need gift ideas.  my dad failed on Mother’s Day presents (I’ll let you know and then didn’t).I need gift ideas. my dad failed on Mother’s Day presents (I’ll let you know and then didn’t). My parents are 60-ish and retired. They live on a golf course. They’re super hard to shop for Bc they have almost everything. So now I need a Mother’s Day present and Father’s Day present. They live in Lake Carroll (two hours west of Naperville). They like to golf and garden. I’m not opposed to gift cards. Any suggestions?

Hands down my fave gift to give is a Walgreens photo calendar for my mom each year. Very easy to make online and ready within 24 hours at Walgreens. Also for golfers, Devereux brand has face masks with “G*LF” on them which are a fun gift for golfers in this weird time. I’ll try to think of a few others and post. My family is all golfers so I’ve had this same predicament many times.

You can also customize golf balls with a cute slogan or a nickname for them.

If they like to garden, maybe a little garden basket? I have a little mesh basket that I use to collect the veggies and then I can hose them off in the basket before bringing them in. You could fill it with nice garden gloved and some new tools. Also, you can order air plants off amazon, so they are fun little plants to have around the house!

@broadbrim5914 Whole Foods has a really nice selection of garden veggies, some really unique herbs, and fruits.

Might sound weird but I got my mom a puzzle, two coloring books, and a crayola coloring kit (crayons, markers, colored pencils). With everything going on right now she's bored. She loved them!  Also one of the coloring books was fancy and the other was like motivational saying but with swear words. She thought it was funny. They weren't kids' cartoon ones.

Do they sit outside? How about new matching lounge chairs to relax outside? Arrange to pay for dinner at the clubhouse (not sure if they’re open for curbside) or dinner from Brothers in Lanark. Plant a small new tree or shrub for them to have from you.

If they love to garden, gift cards to the local garden center are always appreciated. His and hers Felco pruners (widely thought of as the best pruners, but the price makes it a luxury item) with holsters would also be a huge hit with a gardening couple.

I got my mom one of these metal birds. You hammer it into a tree. It’s unique garden decor. I opted for a cardinal to honor family members that have passed away. She loved it! I think I’m going to get one for myself.

My mom mentioned once she liked the idea of a "mother's ring or family ring" which has your immediate family birthstones in it. This is a local IL company you can order online from that will make them. It took a little while to receive but it was 40% off and made to order. They are known for class rings, but I use them for other custom jewelry
