Has anyone recently done the virtual tour of the Family Birth Center at Edwards? I have signed up twice and never receive the zoom link, I’ve called as well and don’t get anywhere. I was going to try again but was curious if anyone could could tell me about the content of the tour before I give it another go? Is it worth trying again?

I’ve never done the tour but I delivered two kids at Edwards between 2017 and 2019 and I LOVED our stay there. The rooms are spacious and private and I had a wonderful view of the courtyard both times. Nurses are super nice and my friend is a mom and baby nurse there. My boyfriend LOVES the cafeteria food there too, I think that’s what he was most excited for the second time around!  I was so pleased the first time around that we went there for round 2 this past October and I was just as pleased.

Yes to all of this! Private and spacious rooms, AMAZING nurses, good cafeteria food. my husband loved the snack room in the mother/baby unit haha As far as a tour goes, we did an in-person tour in 2018 and I wouldn’t say it helped necessarily. I know some people find it useful, but the basic pictures they have on their website are pretty much spot on. Most of my tour was made up of this one lady asking medical questions specific to her that no one else cared about!

This happened to me for Elmhurst, could not get any answers from them. The birthing class showed the hospitals both edwards and Elmhurst which helped without needing to do the tour.

My husband and I actually just did it yesterday. This is our 2nd baby but we delivered our 1st at another hospital. We did the tour for that reason. We didn’t feel it was really worth it since we have been through it already. If it’s your 1st, it may be beneficial. They tell you where to go when you come to the hospital. They show you the labor and delivery rooms and mother baby suites. It’s all slides though. The instructor is live on camera and answers questions.

I did mine a month ago or so. Virtually. for a first time momma I thought it was nice to get the information about the hospital, their rooms, and the procedures of what it will be like.
