These work unbelievably well. Put a few around the floor or counters and GONE. Think I got them at Target or Walmart. Pet friendly.

@varied yes! These are the best.

@varied these are the only things that worked for us!

@abattoir the little white ones suck
by (670 points)
@benoite59765 same, like the best ever. I would never buy anything else

Yes, the white ones didn’t work for us either. The clear Terro ones were amazing though how they would draw out the ants in a line and then completely gone by the next day!

I tried cinnamon, diatomaceous earth, a non poisonous orange citrus spray, and the white plastic ant traps.  nothing worked! Almost had pest control come in. but tried the clear Terro gel & Terro traps as 1 last diy remedy. and it worked! 48 hours later completely eliminated any sight of them.

The white baits were useless here, too. The terro liquid works amazing which makes it disgusting.  But once you put those baits out DONT KILL ANY ANTS. They have to bring the bait back to their colony so they all die. It took about 48-72hrs before we noticed the number of ants finally reducing as they started dying. But we haven't seen a single ant since.

Love this bait. Only thing is to remember to put it out again after a couple of months to kill any of the ants that are attempting to repopulate. but this works great!

Cinnamon - Not sure why it works but it does

@boastful559 yes this. They do this in Mexico at the little food stands. Little bowls everywhere. No ants.

I had my kids walk around the house outside and find where they they were coming from. Once we found them outside near the house I put outdoor bait traps out. It’s been a week and I haven’t been seeing them in the house anymore.

Cinnamon or cayenne: but both can stain so use precaution. on newspaper for example. But honestly, the best is Terro. Clear gel tubes you put near where ants appear. Gone! So good I bring them to my relatives in the Czech Republic.

Hi @nomo15780! If home remedies do not work and you need something stronger, my family owns Men in Black Pest Control Services Inc. and we’d be happy to help you. Please feel free to reach out to me directly with any questions

@pistole3 thank you for taking care of our  problem last year! We used your company last summer after trying out another company the previous two years, and so far no ants this year! That’s a first for us as each spring we’d have tons. If we see any this year we will be sure to get you out here.

Another vote for Men in Black Pest Control Services Inc.! We tried natural concoctions and Terro baits for six years before giving up. MIB did a one-time treatment last spring, and we still haven’t had a single ant return.

We used MIB when Terro stopped working

@colas78614 Thank you for giving us a call! I'm so glad you aren't seeing any this year as it seems to be a very bad year for ants thanks to all of our crazy weather. Thank you all for recommending us! <3

Your not alone we are being attacked by ants! Its so frustrating! I keep a really really clean house but they still find the smallest bit of food from the kids and i have a 1000 of them. So thanks for posting about it i was just screaming literally 20mins ago about how im going to have to call a exterminator! Im going to try terro first!

All the rain is causing them to come up and out of their nests and into our homes. Anderson Pest Control helps us out every spring!

Only thing that worked for us. We tried cinnamon and other traps. We were close to calling an exterminator it was so bad. These were the best.

We used a combination of water, Borax and sugar. Soak cotton balls in the mixture and leave them wherever you see the ants inside. We tried **everything** and nothing worked until this solution which worked really fast! Good luck!

Aptive. Wonderful company that is environmentally friendly. We have a cat with asthma and we could not use the conventional chemicals.

Are the big or little ants? Makes a difference in how you treat them. If you have little ants. We had an insane ant problem. They were building nests in the walls! Along with the exterminator (we used proactive pest care) check your mulch and home exterior or brick patios. When I looked under the new mulch at the old mulch that wasn’t removed last year, there were millions of them. I had a landscaper take out all of the old mulch and put new down. They also made nexts in the brick patio that we then sprayed.

@nomo15780 ours were too. We got rid of them through exterminator pellets (I’m sure the poison you buy in the store is the same thing), changing out the mulch and looking in the stones and spraying (home defense works too). Just be consistent. Good luck! Ants suck

Depending on the type of ant, but you can buy these little containers shaped like an apple on Amazon- works great for most of them!

Look to see where they are coming in. Then wipe down their trail with vinegar or other cleaner. Sprinkle borax where they are coming in.

I found that if you can find where they are coming in and caulking up any tiny holes works well.

Look up the recipe with borax. It is the best and we tried a lot. The ants flock to it so you’ll see a ton then that’s it
