Hello Mamas.  hope you are doing well!Hello Mamas. hope you are doing well! Looking for a suggestion. My 20 months old LO is not eating ANYTHING AT ALL. No to milk, breakfast, lunch n dinner n sometimes to snacks too. She just want to go out slide n play. And this is happening for pst 3 weeks. Initially I thought she will be fine after 1 or 2 weeks but now she just say NO for anything n everything. What should I do now? Take her for a Dr checkup or anything I can try at home? What can I do/try to increase her appetite. Pls suggest. Thanks!

My little guy is 19 months and I’ve heard from other mom groups that these could mean she’s teething. Does she like soft things like bananas, yogurt, applesauce? Maybe try those this weekend.

Feed her outside on a picnic blanket? If she just wants to be outside, see if that works.

It's a struggle. I'd talk to your pediatrician. When my youngest was 15 month she started to get real picky 3 months she barely ate anything. And she had a great pallet before. It got so bad that she started to loose weight and I ended up setting her up with a great GI. She had to put her on iron supplements, appetite stimulants, and pediasure. She is still a horrible eater and is still on pediasure. I cant get her to eat anything outside her 5 things she likes.

@terina if you still struggle you may want to consider feeding therapy with an Occupational Therapist. They work with problem eaters to increase variety of foods

@conchita4379 shes almost 5yo.

@terina yes. A pediatric feeding therapist can really help. There could be underlying issues as to why she is limiting what she’s eating. It could be oral motor related(her ability to actually bite, chew, manipulate food around in her mouth, swallow, etc) or sensory related (sensitivities to touch, smell, taste, visual look, texture, etc) or both. I’m a pediatric OT who doesn’t specialize in feeding, but I worked with a feeding therapist with my daughter and saw great success.

@conchita4379 thanks! I'll have to talk to the pediatrician about this! If you don't mind me asking, where did you take her?

@terina I did Early Intervention services in home but that is only for kids birth-3. I know Katie Bug has Feeding Therapy. Some therapists at Nova Care also are trained in Feeding Therapy.

My son is a very small kid and went through a no eating phase too. But I could get him to drink smoothies. Check out weelicous on Instagram she has great smoothie recipes. She actually has a smoothie cookbook I use religiously. It’s fun to lots of really fun colors to choose from they all taste great. I let him pick a color and then we make a smoothie that color. He sees it more as a treat than anything. Plus you can bulk them up secretly. Chia seeds, coconut oil, nuts etc

Little people are so picky. Keep trying You are the parent and in control. The littles like to think they are in control. Be a step ahead I know it’s easier said then done but it can be done. It takes ALOT OF EFFORT! You can do it! Take charge and be in control ! You’re the adult! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
