My little man is congested. I don't want to give him meds if I don't have to, any natural remedies to help him sleep tonight?

I did Vick’s on the bottom of my youngest sons feet at this age. But, I’m not sure it’s approved.

@grotto yep, saline cleanse after that and then a good aspiration. Cool mist humidifier in the room and Benadryl for sleep if nothing else is working.

Prop his head a little more when he sleeps if you can. It can help him breath better, nasal aspirator his nose alot , and try a steamy bathroom. The doctor told me that cool vaporizer helps too.

@ricardaricardama saline mist (nose frida). It will get way up there and loosen it up
by (1.1k points)
@ricardaricardama agreed with saline mist! Also, the steamy bathroom is very helpful. I have been known to use a clothes steamer instead of running the hot water constantly too!

Zarbee’s makes a baby friendly rub you can put on his feet (kinda like Vicks)

Apply Vick’s on chest and back spinal cord and massage feet with Vick’s and put socks on. I do the same for my 1 year. first check by applying on small area. and check the sesnsitivity of skin and apply

Steam shower, Maty’s Chest Rub and humidifier. Also, Zarbee’s Baby Cough & Congestion before steam shower will help loosen and clear his breathing.

You can make your own non-toxic chest rub with SniffleEase, which is a blend from Young Living made especially for little ones. Just mix a few drops with organic coconut oil. I would for sure stay away from Vicks and anything else that is petroleum based. Diffusing essential oils is also a great way to purify the air and keep everyone in the house breathing easier.

@oreste they have Vick’s without petroleum. I find it works better than any of the natural remedies. Just my opinion. and, I’m all about natural most of the time.

Cool-must Humidifier running all night and make his room cooler than usually by a few degrees. Vick’s or oil on feet with socks.

Warm mist humidifier is BEST. Keep room cooler and use that.
