Has anyone used taxis with their baby/ toddler? We are going to Boston and not planning to rent a car (for multiple reasons) I cant see myself putting her car seat in the taxi and then lugging it around an aquarium for example. Has anyone requested a car seat with uber? Any experience in this scenario? Thank you

Opps! Forgot to answer the question. The few rare times we travel without the seat and without renting a car, I either request an actual car service (w/ seat) before leaving (usually we do this to/from airport) or we use public trans and taxi/ubers & baby wear in the back seat. I only prefer this when I know we are going short distances of course.

@tremann yes in many sates it's legal to do this in the back seat of a taxi or uber/lyft like service.

I don't think car seats are available with Uber or Lyft nationwide yet. You might want to research that first.

That was my advice . It’s only available in some cities . There are companies where you can rent materials through or request a car service with a car seat ( I did the recently when Morgan and I flew home together and I didn’t need a car seat while we were in Florida because we have family with littles there)

If she's 30 lbs and about 3 I think you get a safe rider vest and use that in taxis and such and then just throw it back in diaper bag during aquarium

Hey @shawnna - we went to Boston last year and stayed in the city. They are not a select city with Uber car seats (at least last year they weren’t) The buses are kind of tricky and crowded. We did end up renting a car. Seemed like the easiest solution with 2 kiddos in car seats

Would not recommend You don’t know if installed properly or age of seat or care of seat

I am sure you could check the seat at places

I used the ride safer travel vest with my 3 year old when we were on vacation. It’s compact and light and you can easily carry it around with you.
