Does anyone have a good recommendation for a car seat? My babe is 8 months now and it’s time to upgrade.

We upgraded to the Chicco nextfit zip around that age and love it.

We have this for our primary seat, too. Love that the manufacturer approves machine washing the cover (although I have no had to test it so far)

@cottontail I’ve washed ours several times and no issues.

I personally love the Diono seats but the Graco extend fit seems to be a very popular option as well.

I love our Britax ClickTight Marathon (any of the ClickTights are great). I would go to Buy Buy Baby and try them out/install them in the seat they have on the floor.

I really hate our Dionos - so hard to install correctly, very heavy, don't stand up on their own. I could go on and on. I do love all our Britax Clicktights.

We have Graco 4ever extend2fit for all my kids and love it. Super easy to adjust strap height, highest stats for rear facing, and it is literally the only seat you will need till they are ready to be done with all car seats and boosters.

My only suggestion is go with a traditional convertible car seat vs a extend 2 fit or grow with me. (Boosters are cheap when the time really comes which isn't till almost 6) After being hit 2 times with kids in the car I like that convertible seats have higher sides in a side impact crash. To keep the child more protected. Esp switching a child so young there's even more protection around the neck area and such.

We have 5 nextfits and I love them for all things safety. The only downside is weight and bulk but that's how you get the added safety so I'm okay with it.

So we have the Chicco nextfit for my 20 month old. Used it for my son as well. Absolutely LOVE IT. The reclining feature is awesome for us, because they can sit up more if it’s a short trip, or you can recline so their heads don’t droop if it’s a longer trip and they may fall asleep. We also got the Chicco Myfit for my 4 year old and its fantastic. I’ve had all Chicco brand seats and have zero complaints about any of them.

Peg Perego Primo Viaggio Convertible Car Seat. Light weight and easy to travel with without compromising safety. These are actually side impact tested in Italy. My son is still in it and he’s 5. We own the peg flex too.

Britax saved my sons life when a semi hit us. The car on his side collapsed on him. Also the car seat did exactly what it should have done. The car seat was not damaged it truly saved his life. Also due to proper car seat installation and strapping in appropriately he is here❤️
