If you’re mixing water and bleach solutions/wipes, just make sure you make it fresh daily

@corrugation Yes! 10% bleach solution is only good for 24 hours. And not too many people know that.

@tranquillize yes. I keep seeing people say they’ll make it in a jar with rags but they don’t know they have to keep making new solution

Costco had them when I went around 3pm Saturday. You can call them first and they'll give you a list of things they are out of

You can mix bleach and water. Clorox has the exact amounts listed. Make it in a large jar, and use a cloth.

@abutting most Clorox wipes don’t have bleach. How do you make the regular wipes?
by (8.2k points)
@tremann, Use Clorox bleach to make your own disinfecting wipes. Someone else posted the directions.

Make your own. Menards sells these

Cut each sheet in half and stuff them in baggies, pour disinfectant in the bags. They are working wonders!

Or put them in an old wipe container

How to make disinfectant wipes with bleach? YouTuber “Do It On a Dime With Kathryn” has an easy-to-follow DIY video on how to make your own disinfectant wipes with bleach following the CDC guidelines. If you can’t watch, here are the steps: Grab a roll of sturdy paper towels and cut it half (a kitchen knife works well for this). Mix at a tablespoon of bleach with two cups of water. Put each of your rolls of paper towels in an airtight container. Pour one cup of the bleach solution over each of the rolls in each container, then seal.

There are no paper towel, napkins, alcohol, Lysol, Clorox wipes anywhere. Not amazon or anywhere else. I’m considering the industrial brown trifold paper towel that’s comes 200 a pack and 10 packs per case. They’re $40 on amazon.

@bellwether2692 that seems so expensive. I have extra bounty paper towels if you want. Just PM me.

I like Clorox wipes because they do not have bleach. I have ruined several things using bleach wipes. I can’t find alcohol. There has to be another option.

@tremann peroxide (which is out also) or vinegar would be the exception for bleach.
by (13.7k points)
@bellwether2692 According to the CDC, vinegar does not work for Covid
by (3.6k points)
@tremann well what does? Just bleach or peroxide?
by (13.7k points)
@bellwether2692 there’s a list but yes bleach was on it.

Stay home, use soap or an alternative

@salpingotomy just because you have to go out as an essential worker doesn't mean you can't stay home from stores and going out for stuff outside work

I don’t believe vinegar will break down the lipid barrier to disinfect the virus from surfaces

Dawn dish soap can work. So you can always use sponges or rags to wash stuff instead of wipes. Dawn is pretty safe on most things.
