Summer vacation question. Have any of you changed your summer plans due to the pandemic?Summer vacation question. Have any of you changed your summer plans due to the pandemic? We have a vacation planned for Florida (the beach) the first week of June. The dilemma, we only have a few weeks left to cancel to get all our money back. Otherwise we lose it. I’d wait and see how things are closer, but cost wise we don’t have that option. Thoughts?

Better safe than sorry and cancel. Plus Florida took so long to get their shit together I’m betting it will be much worse down there and/or they won’t recover as fast.

We have a cruise booked for the first part of December and we keep going back and forth on if we should cancel or not. If we did we would just reschedule for February/March. If I had a trip planned for June in Florida I would 100% cancel.

We had a rental house in Ft Meyers Beach, first 2 weeks of June and they canceled us. The Governor currently has a ban on rentals & also if you're from out of state, you have to quarantine for 14 days. That'd be my whole trip. They state they will be monitoring travelers to be sure they are. Lots of beaches are closed.

We had a Dream Mediterranean cruise scheduled for the summer. That obviously had to get canceled in March. We are hoping me might still be able to go to Europe but as of right now, doesn’t look like we will be able to go.

I would guess since the travel ban doesn't offically stretch to June yet, . maybe that's how they are skirting it. Maybe you'll have to filw claims after offical bans are extended to include the date of the flight

if you cancel your own trip then the airline is canceling or delaying your flight. There’s a difference which is how they can get around it.

Barenbrugge double check this. If your trip is in June, AA probably hasn’t cancelled your flight. If AA cancels, you get money back. If YOU cancel, you get credit.

We cancelled our trip. This was the motivation I needed to pull the plug on it. I’m sad, but we’ll see how things are this summer .

We had a trip to Fiji planned for the end of July we cancelled. 10 year wedding anniversary. We know things won’t be “back to normal” for a long while.

our 10 yr trip was to maui. of course we had to cancel. I told my husband I am not booking a trip for our 20th bc something major will happen then too. We can go for our 19th or 21st. all of us who got married in a recession in 2010 will have stories ! Enjoy Fiji when you get to go! That’s on our bucket list!

Cancel. They’re likely not going to peak until early-mid May. Which means things will still be closed in June.

We cancelled our cruise in September already. I probably wouldn’t feel comfortable going anywhere in June for sure.

Supposed to go to Hawaii in July. Still holding on to some hope. Plus I can’t cancel yet because the airlines are only saying flights thru May can be changed or cancelled.

There will be so many cancellations that if things are much improved, you'll easily be able to book a new place to stay.

I listened to a talk from an epidemiologist in Chicago! She said most viruses take a vacation in the summer because of heat!
