Hi!  Asking for a friend of mine: Is anyone planning to list their home this month?Hi! Asking for a friend of mine: Is anyone planning to list their home this month? In Ashbury, Maplebrook, Winding Creek, Knoch Knolls, River Woods area, Ranchview area, lisle, or similar area? We are looking for 4 bedrooms, 2. 5 bath, 2500 sqft plus, and basement (can be unfinished). If so, please PM me! We are looking to purchase in the next month. Additionally, if you live in Ashbury or have and moved out- can you tell me your thoughts on the area? We have never lived in an HOA. Thank you!

I live in Ashbury and it is great. Overall the HOA is good for the neighborhood. We have a great pool/clubhouse and lots of events throughout the year. Great family neighborhood with Patterson Elementary right here. The HOS does a good job of keeping the neighborhood looking good! I’m happy to answer any questions.

I haven’t verified this but I’ve been told by my friend who just bought a home that it’s illegal to show homes that are still occupied/lived in. Has anyone else heard? We would love to list ours.

@tremann my home is listed right now and we have still had showings. Currently it is up to the homeowner if they would like to allow showings or not. Open houses are not allowed currently though, which is why a lot of agents have switched to virtual open houses!

@tremann for us, we are allowing showings, but we leave all lights on and as many doors open as possible. Our agent makes it very clear to other agents that they are to wear gloves and only one person is allowed to open doors/touch switches, etc. When we get home, we immediately wipe down any handles or switches just in case. So far it has gone smoothly for us

@tremann thankfully, Real estate is still deemed in essential business in IL so properties can still be shown! I’m a realtor, keeping up with all of the latest updates. Occupied rental properties cannot be shown, maybe that’s the root of what you heard. listed properties for sale may be shown at the sellers’ discretion. Many of our listing are! Just taking additional precautions with gloves, hand sanitizer etc. to be abundantly cautious

@tremann that is not the case. I’m a realtor. We can not do open houses during the shut in. We can show homes with a maximum of 4 people in the home and there are restrictions. If you have questions, you can call me 630-699-9091

@bother9193 you are right Amy! We know all the rules and follow them through this COVID-19 mess. Showings are not allowed at homes that currently have tenants. Showings ARE allowed at occupied homes if the seller agrees. Happy to answer any questions

There’s an awesome house for sale in Winding Creek about a block from me. It’s my friend’s childhood home, well maintained, very quietly street amazing neighborhood. We love Winding Creek so much that we are on our second house here haha! 1415 Meander

@larimore address is 26W250 Case St. There will be new pictures coming online in the next two days as we initially listed it for rent. The pictures online now are very outdated, there is a new roof, one bathroom completely redone, new flooring on lower level and laundry room and some other improvements from the original pictures that show up if you search it. We moved out of Ashbury 2 yrs ago. Downsized. I still miss it. A beautiful neighborhood. The pool is awesome.

We lived in Ashbury for 18 years (downsized a little over a year ago). Great place to raise kids! Great school, pool, and walking trails. Neighbors were friendly and always ready to lend a hand.

We love in Ashbury and LOVE it! People are very friendly, pool is beautiful and great for kids, Patterson Elementary is awesome, there are playgroups for little kids so they (and you) can make neighborhood friends before they start school! Can't say enough about what a nice place it is to raise a family!

We lived in Ashbury for 6 years & absolutely loved living there. Great neighborhood for kids, lots of families, pool is awesome & you can walk to the elementary school. @harper646 helped us sell our home & buy a new one. she’s the best! Good luck to you!

We love ashbury! Been here almost 12 years. People are really wonderful. Pool is fabulous. Schools are excellent. When we were looking we felt it was the best deal for a pool community. As far as HOA, it’s not too bad imo. Sometimes the “rules” can be annoying, but as long as you are ok with them, it’s fine. I’ve heard of much stricter hoas than this. For example: the fence type/height rule. I have seen people move in, not knowing about it, then are upset they can’t put up a super tall privacy fence. So I would say to take a look at the rules before you buy. They really aren’t too crazy, IMO

We live in brook crossings across from ashbury. There are quite a few homes for sale that have been remodeled and it's a great family friendly neighborhood with elementary and middle school within the subdivision.
